Breed: Gordon Setter Born: April 19, 1999 Sire: Aust Ch Warchant Stormy Petrel (AUST) Breeder of Sire: Dawn Ferguson - Freeman's Reach, Australia Dam: Can Ch Tamarod Anna Pavlova (GBR) Breeder of Dam: Dora Bristow - Worcester, United Kingdom This litter is a repeat breeding of the one that produced 8 pups by frozen semen in July 1997. The sire, Stormy, is a "frozen" puppy himself out of our "Harry" and Dawn Ferguson's "Belle" (Warchant Kennels of Australia). We were so impressed with the obvious intelligence and gentle demeanour of those pups that we kept the pick male - "Olli". Olli's good looks and charm have been proven in the conformation ring with limited showing and as a service dog while visiting senior's residences. We plan to keep one of the two ladies from this litter to continue our breeding programme as Cricket will be spayed, and reside, as the grand matron of Duurstede Kennels. We are very thankful to Dora Bristow (Tamarod Kennels of Great Britain) for providing us with such an outstanding foundation bitch. That's the good news, but there is some sad news also. We ended up with 4 boys and two girls but unfortunately we lost one of the boys - the first puppy we have lost in years of breeding. We felt that the little guy deserved the same level of love we would give any of our adults, so we are having him cremated and will keep his ashes in our "Hall of Fame" so all our "kids" are together waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge when it's our time! There are several great Moms of ours there already, so we know he will be well looked after. Deb and I plan to take pictures weekly (see below) and add them to this web page so that you can watch the "monsters" grow!
